Steve Sexton (Choctaw) of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will be joining us next Tuesday (23rd) for a talk titled "Native American Literature in Contemporary Anti-Colonial Resistance." The event has been organized by the U.S. Embassy Nicosia in collaboration with European University Cyprus, and it will be held online. The talk will discuss the Thanksgiving holiday and its meaning for Native Americans today, as well as resistance to settler violence in American Indian literatures more widely.

Dr. LeAnne Howe will be introducing Steve and moderating a Q&A afterwards.  The talk is scheduled to run for about 30-40 minutes, with another 20 or so minutes for questions and discussion.
