Since 2013 we have held our annual Wabanaki Wellness Gathering in or near tribal communities for Wabanaki people and friends to learn, celebrate, and engage in activities around a particular theme.  

At many of these gatherings, we have performed staged readings of our favorite play Indian Radio Days: An Evolving Bingo Experience by LeAnne Howe and the late Roxy Gordon . We always have a wonderful time performing and working backstage and the audience enjoys it immensely, too. It is such an engaging, hilarious, and educational performance as it teaches a bit about American history. 

Since the pandemic, we have been unable to gather safely, so in 2020 we connected through Zoom to record scenes and create a film. We invite you to view the film on our YouTube Channel between January 29, 2023 and February 5, 2023 and then attend a Zoom panel discussion with some of the actors on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 2:00 PM.

LeAnne Howe was born into a Choctaw family in Edmond, Oklahoma, and attended local schools as a child. She later attended Oklahoma State University, where she majored in English. She is an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation.

Howe is an author, playwright, scholar, and poet. She has explored Native American experiences through writing screenplays. She has also written fiction, creative non-fiction, plays, and poetry.
