The Cleveland Indians (now Guardians) and Washington Redskins (now Commanders) both changed their branding in the past decade. Why not the Braves or the Kansas City Chiefs? Elise Blasingame, PhD Candidate in SPIA and INAS Graduate Certificate Student will present her dissertation research on how the public feels about changing these mascots and branding, and how identity and state-Tribal politics play a major role in changing hearts and minds.
