Image: MIT Solve is thrilled to announce that the Indigenous Communities Fellowship is open now through Tuesday, May 9th. The 2023 Indigenous Communities Fellowship seeks Native innovators in the US and Canada who are using traditional knowledge and technology to meet their communities' social, environmental, and economic goals. All of the selected fellows will receive at least $10,000 USD, as well as be eligible for additional grants from our partners. Fellows also join a year-long cohort with other innovators where they can present their solutions to potential funders at the Solve Challenge Finals in NYC during the United Nations General Assembly in September, at our Equity Summit, and Solve at MIT on the MIT campus in May. To that end, MIT Solve seeks solutions that: Strengthen sustainable energy sovereignty and support climate resilience initiatives by and for Indigenous peoples. Support the creation, growth, and success of Indigenous-owned businesses and promote economic opportunity in Indigenous communities. Drive positive outcomes for Indigenous learners of any age and context through culturally grounded educational opportunities. Promote culturally informed mental and physical health and wellness services for Indigenous community members. If you or someone you know has a solution, you can apply here today!
