Image: Researchers Ervan Garrison, Sergio Bernardes, and Abhijit Sarmah, have published a preliminary report in the Horizon & Tradition Newsletter of the Southeastern Archaeological Conference. The researchers have been using remote sensing to study the Rock Eagle and Rock Hawk effigy mounds in Putnam County, GA. The team is preparing a full report for submission to the journal Remote Sensing later this fall. The Institute of Native American Studies was honored to provide funding for this project.
