Thursday, April 12 2018, 4:30pm MLC 101 Guest speaker Drew Lopenzina, professor of Early American and Native American Literatures at Old Dominion University will speak on "From Mashpee to Standing Rock: Reading William Apess in the 21st Century," focusing on Apess's activism. Dr. Lopenzina is the author of Red Ink: Native Americans Picking up the Pen in the Colonial Period (2011) and Through an Indian's Looking-Glass: A Cultural Biography of William Apess, Pequout (2017).
