Brett Riggs, a distinguished professor of Western Carolina University, has been named an honorary member of the EBCI for his 30 years of work on archaeological projects preserving the tribe's history. It’s the highest honor the Eastern Band can bestow upon a non-native.
Researchers Ervan Garrison, Sergio Bernardes, and Abhijit Sarmah, have published a preliminary report in the Horizon & Tradition Newsletter of the Southeastern Archaeological Conference.
